The county secretary is the head of the county public service, as stated in Article 235 of the Kenyan Constitution.
The county secretary is responsible for organizing the business and recording the minutes of the county executive committee, following the committee’s directions.
Additionally, the county secretary communicates the decisions of the county executive committee to relevant individuals or authorities.
The county secretary may also carry out other duties as assigned by the county executive committee.
The County Public Service Board may delegate any of its functions to the county secretary in writing.
Kisii County is one of the 47 counties in Kenya courtesy of the new constitution of Kenya 2010 which created the new county system of governance.
