Kisii County leaders meet over cancellation of exam

Elected leaders from Kisii County assembled in a Nairobi Hotel to discuss the way forward for candidates whose Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) results was either cancelled or withheld by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

Led by Kisii County Governor James Ongwae and Senator Chris Obure, the leaders agreed to schedule a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Education Jacob Kaimenyi and KNEC officials to urge them to release the withheld results and give more explanation on the cancelled results.

The leaders urged the affected candidates and parents to remain calm as they seek to address the issue and promised to give a way forward soon.

The meeting was attended by MPs Sally Otara, Stephen Manoti, Richard Onyonka, Zebedeo Opore, Elijah Moindi, Joel Onyancha, Manson Nyamweya and Richard Tongi. Kisii County Chief Officer in charge of Education David Kebiro was also present
