Kisii county leaders, relatives and friends gathered at the Gusii stadium to receive bodies of the Garissa University attack victims for interdenominational prayers.
Leaders who spoke called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to take responsibility of the Garissa attack and ensure families that lost their loved ones are compensated by the national government.
Speaking during an interdenominational prayer service for the 12 students who lost their lives in the Garissa University terror attack, the leaders expressed dissatisfaction on the way the national government is handling the Garissa attack.
The leaders noted that Gusii region has constantly experienced worst hit by the attacks, quoting the recent Mandera attack where Kisii County lost 8 lives.
Unanimously, the leaders called on the national government to tighten security measures, ensure prompt response to such calamities and launch rescue operations.
