Governor Ongwae commissions a borehole in Tabaka ward

Kisii County Governor James Ongwae commissioned a borehole at Tabaka DEB primary school drilled by the county in partnership with Scope International.

The borehole has been fitted with a hand pump to ensure many people within the locality access safe, clean drinking water.

Ongwae said drilling is ongoing in all 45 wards adding that the boreholes will later be developed into water schemes.

“In the past financial years, our focus was on spring protection where we protected five springs in each of the 45 wards in the 2013/2014 fiscal year and 10 in the current financial year,” said Ongwae.

Ongwae said the county government has shifted focus to water reticulation adding that water schemes will be revived and new ones developed to ensure all people access potable water in the comfort of their homesteads.

The health department availed the Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic donated by First Lady Margret Kenyatta at Tabaka DEB primary school to provide services to the people. Elizabeth said the clinic will help reduce maternal and child mortality especially in the grassroots.

Kisii County First Lady Elizabeth, County Executive Members Sarah Omache (Health), Peris Onsarigo (Administration and Corporate Services and Stakeholder Management), Moses Onderi (Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development), David Kombo (Chairman Kisii County Public Service Board), Leader of Minority Apepo Ombasa among other senior officers.
