Governor James Ongwae has called on investors in Australia to invest in Africa.
Ongwae said Africa especially East Africa has a lot of potential which is yet to be tapped in mining, Energy and Agriculture.
Speaking in Perth, Australia where he presented a key note address on investment opportunities in East Africa and specifically Kisii County at the East African Oil and Gas Conference, he said East Africa should be supported to bolster its economy.
“Opportunities in investment are I’m ear in Africa especially in Kisii where soapstone mining has not been fully explored to meet the demands of the world market and benefit the residents of Tabaka in South Mugirango Sub County. Therefore we invite partnerships to improve on the value of the stone in order to improve the livelihoods of the people that we serve, ” he said.
Others in the Kenyan Delegation at the EAOG meeting in Perth Were Governors of Samburu, Isiolo, Marsabit, Kirinyaga and Taita. The High Commissioner for Kenya to Australia Comm. Isaiah Kabira, the KRA Commissioner General Mr Jeremiah Njiraine and the CEO of LAPSET Mr Sylvester Kasuku were in attendance.
