School going pupils in Monyerero Ward, Kitutu Chache North Sub County Kisii have a reason to smile.

The 280 pupils received two pairs of shoes each from First Lady Elizabeth Ongwae in her efforts to end all barriers preventing children from going to school.

Mrs. Ongwae said her office is committed to improving the lives of school going children, adding that the programme will be extended to all other Wards in the County.

“We want to end the dropout rates in all our schools. A child should not miss school just because they cannot get books, afford school fees or are hampered for lack of sanitary pads. We must remove all barriers that stop our children from accessing education,” she said.
